About Love Therapy

Love Therapy was founded in McKinney, Texas by LaQuesia Love in November 2013. Although only having returned to the area from San Antonio a month prior, Ms. Love quickly built her practice to fill the needs of her clients waiting to be seen since her arrival.

How we can help

A good therapist can help you cope with feelings and symptoms, while changing the behavior patterns that may be contributing to your illness.

Most of us feel sad, lonely, or depressed at times. This is a normal reaction to loss, life's difficulties, or low self-esteem. However, when depression becomes overwhelming, manifests physically, and/or lasts for long periods of time, it can keep you from leading a normal, content life. That's when it's time to seek medical help.
Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at home or work, before making an important decision, or after a significant change in your life. Anxiety disorders involve more than a passing worry or fear. For a person with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. These feelings can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, school work, and relationships. If this is the case, therapy can help.
Adolescent Issues
When teens are going through a rough time, such as family troubles or problems in school, they might feel more supported if they talk to a counselor. They may be feeling sad, angry, or overwhelmed by life and need help sorting out their feelings, finding solutions to their problems, or just feeling better. That's when counseling can help.
Sexual Abuse
Children who have been sexually, psychologically, or physically abused often experience emotional problems that can affect their academic performance and social skills. Survivors of abuse, who are at heightened risk for developing mental health issues like depression, are also likely to encounter one or more of the following: anxiety, anger, dissociation, post-traumatic stress, shame, self-destructive behavior, and trust issues. Therapy can help a person express and process difficult emotions associated with the abuse, develop self-compassion and self-care strategies for managing moments when he or she feels emotionally overwhelmed, and learn to trust again.
